Northern Steel Industries priory Kashmir Metal Works was established in the year 1950 was engaged high quality precession mechanical works with expertise in the field diversified into electrical and civil working through its sister concern North Sun Enterprises (Electrical wing) and North Metals (Civil wings).
Over the years the company has to its credit major water supply and irrigation schemes, mechanical works in Hydro power including Log gates, EOT cranes, and penstocks. The company has also to its credit a full fulged manufacturer of power and distribution transformer up to 6.3MVA along with high quality Steel Tubular Poles plant with a capacity of 20 metric tonnes per day.
The company is a pioneer of civil work has to its credit a major portion of railway track in prestigious rail project from Qazigund to Baramulla, including Sub Soil Drainage, culverts and Bridges. The company also has to its credit DMU Shed for repair of light.
